List A Debut
Introducing himself to professional cricket on 14 December 2019, Wellalage played for Lankan Cricket Club in the List A cricket of the 2019-20 Invitation Limited Over Tournament. Playing in high level domestic cricket right from the age of seventeen impacted his skills and temperament a great deal.
